Apocalypso

We kissed the stars
On the last night
Of earth,
As the trees fell their leaves
On us,
Like acid rain.
Our lips were dark
With blood
The stains of love
And burning ember flames.

The clouds broke
Into our minds.
Their vapour wings
Touching thought.
Our memories disappeared
Into our hands
And formed a gentle scar
(Of rememberance.)

You trembled as the shadows
Touched.
And all lights
Went out.



We mourned the sky
As the heavens fell.
Our tears tasted
Of secrets and regret
Bittersweet under the light.
You held my hand
Tight
As the insects sung
An elegy of life.

We breathed deep
And held our moment
Like a lover
In our souls.
You whispered my name
Into my spine,
And your lips were cold.
Beneath the broken sky
We spoke a prayer
As though it was a curse.

We kissed the stars
On our last night
On earth.
