Literature Text

In the waiting room
a patient turns to the psychiatrist
and gently asks;
"Why are there two squashed magpies
on your chest?"
And for the first time, I smile
and laugh
for how sweet and softly
it was said.
this was so sweet.
a mental health patient in the waiting room.
I loved how quietly she asked,
as though it didn't matter
that the doctor had dead birds on his chest.
She was really gentle and it made me smile.

It is amusing but also gentle and touching at the same time. You convey this very well.
