I sleep curled up against
the floor
the floorboards are bones
that whisper there
dust and ash
and the feel of lips on
motes of dust
secrets weigh the air
between you and I
and spines naked
with the soft fall of lust
a word pressed between us
like a promise.
blue-mouthed gospels whisper in our bones
and voices curl over my skin
the sweet seductive sounds
of hollow love
and temperate mescaline
she spoons light into the darkness
spools of thread
echoing in the blackness
reaching up to tie quiet deaths
in lipless speech.
lifeless cutlery tangos in the silence
and we listen for the sound of
falling silver
on cold stone
floors.
one secret into another
one tongue
measuring the weight of a sugarless spoon
spooning light
into the darkness.

Impossible to Love
You say you're impossible to love
But I love you all the same
Call me what you will
Try your worst, I don't care
I'll never wish you ill
And I'll always be right there
Love is what I can give
With myself and nothing more
It's all you need to live
Even when your heart is sore
With a soul of stone and eyes of ice
You cry yourself to sleep
Never letting anyone in
Because of those that made you weep
Hiding away from life itself
Muddling through without much else
Feeling alone, lonely, and neglected
Your heart still bleeds from pain
You're still the one I've selected
To share my umbrella in the rain
You may not see what I mean
Literature
You found love
Sly shoulders with
tiny bruises not
meant for lovers eyes,
Teeth and wicked collarbones:
You argued in the stairwell,
Fingers flirting with
that pretty dress of green
as you felt yourself asphyxiate.
Her lips, the antidote
to your wildest dreams.

Love is a Vampire
Breaking my nails
against your skin,
I need you to bleed
so you will be a part
of me.
I am always
wailing inside this
cage, watching my
heart beat in your
hands.
And I want to
feed upon you
so your soul will always
be mine.
But you leave me
in the darkness
on the floor among
shattered glass
and broken bones.
Why don't you pick
me up again?
Why must I watch you
always walk out the door?
I just want
to reach inside of you,
keep you here in my
forever.
Tired of wearing these
chains, you think you can
keep me at a safe distance.
I see it now and
wonder who is left
holding the wooden
stake?
As I plunge it int

I wrote this this morning.
It's a poem written with love about myself and my girlfriend, and the diseases that each of us face (mine is bipolar, hers I will not name here), and loving each other despite our illnesses, and being there for each other through them.
"Quiet deaths" refers to ' La petite mort'
